Hello everybody! This week I accomplished one main goal and
one accidental goal. I was able to create walls that were solid and my
actor/character could run into and touch using the collision action. At first
the walls would just fly off screen but after going in to physics I was able to
make it an immovable object fixing that problem. Second after trying to create
an environment in my scene I came across the gravity feature which might allow
me to experiment and find a way to make a jumping factor. What I’m currently
working on is trying to create a jumping factor and also get rid of an annoying
side effect of the gravity that is causing my character to bounce whenever he
falls and comes in contact with the floor. Also the bug from before where the
character creates constant duplicates in a trail behind him while he is moving
upwards, downwards, left, right and any direction at all really. It is a bug
that I am planning on getting looked at with other Game Salad users A.K.A. our
teacher and one of my friends (privacy reasons). What I’m looking at to do next
is most likely creating enemies with either a destroy function which causes
which ever actor I choose to be destroyed or a reset function to just restart
the level and make the player play though the section again until they are able
to beat it and create a sort of checkpoint at the next section.
This sounds like an awesome plan!
